Daily performance for the duration of the exhibition. The project begins with a new, pressed white shirt hanging in the gallery on a coat rack; the only other element is a simple black chair. Each day the performer enters the museum, puts on the shirt, and proceeds to read a newspaper for an hour. At the conclusion of the reading, the paper is placed to the side of the chair and the performer stands, wiping his hands down the front of the shirt, transferring the accumulated ink from the paper to the shirt. The shirt is returned to a hanger on the coat rack, and remains as a record of the reading; newspapers also accumulate each day.
